Friday Five!

When was the last time you…

1. …sent a handwritten letter?
I wrote one to Hannibal Lector. As a response to this apologizing for the guests\’ rudeness. Okay, so I still shower late in the morning. And by the way, Yeh are you still up for it? :p
As for a real letter, the last one was when I wrote to Naim. :D I still have some stuff left to use!

2. …baked something from scratch or made something by hand?
From scratch? *laughs* Eh, that must have been a long time, since I haven\’t gotten the patience to do it for awhile. My cooking phase started in middle school and died by the end of high school. Fried rice is the most recent thing I can think of. If you can count that. As for making something from scratch, aha! CREPES. I made that during winter break with my sister. They\’re good. They take practice to make in a good shape. Reminds me, I need to get powder sugar…

If anybody is interested, the recipe is this (I copied it from somewhere, but I am too lazy to find the source):

4 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter

Measure all ingredients in to blender jar; blend for 30 seconds. Scrape down sides. Blend for 15 seconds more. Cover and let sit for 1 hour. (This helps the flour absorb more of the liquids.)
Makes 12-14 crepes.

3. …camped in a tent?
A tent? ME?! Seriously. :p I have slept in a cabin with only a stove for heat…during girl scouts. The last time I did that was…probably…uh. Sixth grade? I am not even sure. I know we slept in a cabin about two miles away from my house. And we also went to Half Moon Bay.

4. …volunteered your time to church, school, or community?
I actually would have participated in circle k at Berkeley, but I was too lazy to do anything. And besides, social anxiety was hitting me hard. The last time that I can distinctly remember was when I volunteered at the local food bank. Both the one in Concord and the one in Oakland. In January, I did it for the 20 hours of punishment. Then I kept Sri company while he did his own 20 hours of punishment. I think I was too nice.
If you count this time, then maybe I did kinda volunteered…

5. …helped a stranger?
Me generous? Only with my time. Maybe it was in class yesterday when the guy in class asked me what the instructor just said. I said, \”Logic gates.\” Oh and how I sometimes stop at the crosswalk while driving to let the pedestrians go across first. That does count…right?

Someone wanted a goldfish. But because I spontaneously disappeared, we didn\’t go and get the goldfish. *sob*

A goldfish!

My networking instructor is clearly idiotic. My entire class today apparently agreed with me.

So the instructor is the observant type. He pointed a finger at one student and accused him of leaving early Tuesday.

\”Yes.\” The student admitted. \”But do you want to know why?\”

\”Yeah, I surely want to know why,\” the instructor said with a strong ebonics accent from his hometown, which he calls North Richmond.

\”Well. I was bored.\”

The instructor took the insult in stride and then bored us all for the next three hours. I spent it trying to see whether I had any split ends in my hair. Apparently I do. And to amuse myself, yes Seth, I studied the code…in depth.

I got the internship at Bayer. Data entry! And I get to wear an astronaut suit! Apparently, I passed the drug test.

Surprised?

Maybe.

Human resources called yesterday and asked us (that\’s my sister and me) to start working today, but since my sis had a morning appointment we decided to start Monday. 7 AM. Major ouch. Because, the internship is in Berkeley, I hope to make use of my time there…

Maybe I will visit some people. Or just gloat. ;)

My sister woke up at 9 and made a lot of noise in the bathroom adjacent to both our bedrooms. :( Meep. She was and still is feeling sick. *pats da poor daween* Poor little sister is sleeping in her bed with Bobity Bop and Sata on the side. I hope she feels better soon!

Although there is a good thing, it means that I get the computer all to myself TODAY! :D

Keeping a gpa of 3.0 and above is easy in college, right? When you got a 4.2+ in high school. 3.0 is easy?! Like in UC Berkeley? Isn\’t it? IS IT?!

I made a mistake when I was reading about the computer science minor. I have been freaking out for nearly 24 hours when it dawned on me that I might have to stay in Berkeley for an extra year. Me a super-senior? ARGH. If I hold onto my RCC job until then, I am guaranteed many blossoming opportunities.

If some people didn\’t know from my aim profile, my photo album is now at http://dis.azn-bish.com. Thanks Lele! Yes, you can reminiscence high school, childhood and protesting. :p Yes, you can comment. Yes you can laugh at how drooled. And you can laugh at the rare picture of me in head gear. By the way, that picture to the right was of me and Norbert. It was one of the worst proms I have been to. Considering I have been to only two.

I shall remember for life how he ditched me when the first slow song came on. Jerk? Not really. Nerdy and awkward? Yes. VERY LIKELY.

EDIT: GEEK PICTURE ALERT TO THE LEFT!

Dear Hotel Manager,
I was rudely awakened by the sound of running water @ 3:13 last nite. I am requesting a credit on my last night\’s stay or a coupon for a future stay. Please also inform your guests that there will be consequences if they continue with what [they] do…
Yours truly,
Hannibal L.

Well, yes I was that person who took a shower at 3:13 am (I didn\’t come back from Emeryville/Berkeley until 1:30 am…but I also had some stuff that I had to check online…okay, yeah I kinda procrastinated on taking a shower). And I cannot go to sleep without feeling clean. Also my mom created this rule that I could not use any other bathroom except the one in the master suite. Eh…heh I probably woke up my dad. He left a handwritten letter on the kitchen table stating just that…

Just have to make sure now that I don\’t get eaten…

Went to see Minority Report in Emeryville with Seth. Unfortunately, due to a d\’oh, we couldn\’t get to the 7 pm showing. Thus, we resorted to the 10:30 pm showing. So then we spent the next three hours cruising through the ghetto of Oakland, zooming along the bay attempting to find the location of where a guy was killed several years ago (yes, I saw it on Unsolved Mysteries back then), and IKEA.

Seth thinks Minority Report was \”cool\”. I think so too. Eh, and I forgot to say thank you. Thank you! ;)

I woke up kind of late. :( Then…well, I thought it was okay to buy the tickets a little later in the afternoon. I don\’t know if it made a difference.

Woohoo! We\’re going to see Weezer/Dashboard Confessional with Sparta as the opening act on August 10! :D Haha, some people are jealous! I know they are! Yes, that\’s right. THAT\’S YOU!!! Do you have concert tickets to see Weezer? And Dashboard Confessional? Hah, you don\’t! SIT DOWN!
