A friend said recently, “The day you break up with someone is the loneliest day in the world.”
Because it’s a choice to take the path alone rather than with someone.

I disagree – if you were unhappy, it can feel like a great weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
If the entire experience was negative.
But nothing is totally black and white. I believe nothing can be wholly positive or negative.
even if the experience was mostly postive. if you were unhappy for whatever reason or felt it wasn’t what was best for you and decided to break up… it can still leave you feeling more good than bad. you’re right, nothing is wholly positive or negative. but being alone by no means needs to indicate lonliness.
I agree. It’s almost like a “choose your own adventure game”…only it’s real life and you can’t go back. It’s an irrevocable decision, and once you make it, you’ll never know what could have been. No matter how bad it was, before the decision, you can always tell yourself that it’ll get better, that it might work out. After…all you can do it think about what “might have been.”
