This week\’s Friday Five

1. Hey, baby, what\’s your sign? Do you think it fits you pretty well?
Gemini. Ugh, somehow everything relates back to Alan and it shouldn\’t. Alan and I are both Gemini and I remember how we used to allude to how we found each other\’s lost twin. Sigh. Yes, but it does fit me well. I think I have two split personalities (see my bio)-the shy, quiet one and the outgoing, obnoxious one.
And according to horoscope.com, Geminis have so many talents and interests, sometimes you may find that your attention gets split between too many things at once. It\’s just so easy for to start doing something, then get distracted by something else that seems equally as fascinating. Yet this diversity will also be the root of your success, for you have the ability to accomplish much more than the average person, often in a relatively short time. You\’re able to keep track of a wide range of information that would confuse a lesser person. Rather than causing undue stress, the many demands on your time and attention actually seem to increase your energy and motivation.
How ironic. I started studying for my CS midterm five minutes ago and I ended up doing the Friday Five. Yet, I find that…I am more interested in observing people and collecting information about them. I know that out of all the people I know…I tend to be the most aware of my environment. At least…except for the environment in close vicinity since I do often trip over my own two feet.

2. What\’s the worst birthday gift you\’ve ever received?
Getting none? :)
Okay, well I probably blocked those horrible memories from my mind. It\’s just like how I can\’t remember my sister playing jokes on me when I was young.

3. What\’s the best birthday gift you\’ve ever received?
At the moment, I can only think of the best christmas gifts I ever received. As for birthdays, in high school my friend Rebecca got me the best gifts…specifically because I asked for them. One year, she got me a whole package of candy (because I had a major sweet tooth at that time). The next, she got me Maaaaahlow! Yes, the monkey. The following year she got me a blank book and J.D. Salinger\’s The Catcher in the Rye (since I was obsessed with Holden that year). Now…I wonder what I\’ll receive this year.

4. What\’s the best way you\’ve celebrated your birthday thus far?
I have always attempted to throw a party near my birthday. Last year\’s party was fun. Although sadly, I am no longer friends with most of the people that went. We first went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner although at first I had objected to having a Chinese dinner, but then I discovered that my parents would pay for it…so why not? :) Then we went to Barnes and Nobles just to browse around. Although we called Alan to wish him a happy birthday too (our birthdays are really close to each other)…which was hecka depressing…it was fun. Then we crashed at my house with music pumping from my computer speakers. It was the first time that I was around people who at the time I could call a friend.

5. What are your plans for this weekend?
Well, my friday is starting off with a CS midterm. :( SAD! But then…afterwards, I plan to go home and spend a night there. On Saturday, I am taking the car to drop off something for Calvin. Then driving to Alameda for a spaghetti feed with Stacee and Simon. Then maybe I\’ll be nice and give someone in Berkeley a ride. Ugh, then I have to finish my CS project and study for my EE midterm and MCB midterm.
