I was working in the Math tutoring lab at UNO. All of the tutors were crowded in the office, watching the news. I was mad – the students were expected to remain in the lab to get their credit, but the tutors weren’t there to support them. I stayed out in the lab.
Lunch was silent – everyone watched the TV at the end of the cafeteria. Then, I went to my English class. The professor had recently moved from New York and was stricken with grief, but insisted on not letting it disrupt our lives. A good philosophy I think.
