I am sure most of you didn\’t know where I was at 4 pm. After walking with Sam all the way to Dwinelle to glimpse a May Day dance (first day of May after all), I went to my American Studies class. We just sat there for awhile until an unfamiliar lady entering the class informing us that Professor Moran wouldn\’t be able to make it to class today. That we were supposed to have some people lead a discussion. Eventually one smart student asked where Moran was…turns out that her daughter was having a baby. How cute. The lady eventually left, trusting us to have an discussion about the last two readings. Guess what happened. Five minutes later, a few brave ones opened the door and left. Eventually the class followed. Come on now, you think college students are that devoted?

After that, I went to the BART and rode it to El Cerrito Plaza. You think I was crazy. Yes. I was going to get my free scoop from Baskin Robbins. The only Baskin Robbins store was 3.5 miles from where I lived. And I was that determined. :) I went to the new plaza next to the station and wandered around a bit. Then I ordered dinner from Rubio\’s. Eh, I embarassed myself. But dinner was good anyway. While I was waiting for the bus, I called Naim. Stupidly, I had called him when I had only one bar of reception and the noise of BART/bus all around me. Considering the fact that I have a hard time hearing things…eh. Eventually the bus came and I got to the Baskin Robbins store. I stood in line for approximately twenty minutes and I got my free cone of rainbow sherbert. :D It was yummy. Well, I am wondering if it was worth it. Then I walked back to the station, because there weren\’t that many buses going that way. Yeah one mile walk. Took the BART back to Berkeley, where I waited for twenty minutes just for the 65. I gave up and went to take the campus perimeter shuttle, but I forgot that the shuttle always waited for an extra 10 minutes at the stop. So while I was waiting, the 65 and the 8 came by…the buses that would drop me right in front of my apartment. GAH!

Will I take a silly excursion like that again? Yes. :)

  1. Well, if (money saved on ice cream + the experience of the trip)> (money spent on BART + opportunity cost of time spent), then I suppose it was worthwhile.

  2. of course it was worthwhile… sometimes you just need to do something silly, even if you do waste money. cost is not always a factor in the equation for FUN.
