I always thought myself as different, but it turns out that I am like any other asian girl in those stereotypical novels, seeking approval from my parents.
I accidentally left my apartment keys in my mom\’s car Friday and she had gone to work with them in the car. Thus, I had to stall my return to Berkeley so that I could drive all the way to Martinez to get my keys. On the way to Berkeley, I could tell that my dad was unhappy about the situation. Not only did this week I lost my credit card but also I lost my mom\’s Costco card. And I delayed my response to the companies and them. Disgruntled. Plus I am sure they\’re still upset from how I procrastinate to the last minute to send my rent.
You would think that I had gotten high accolades for being a good child. For never getting into (deep) trouble in school or with the law. For never getting pregnant while I was underage (remember the last words that my mom gave to my sister before she went to college – DON\’T GET PREGNANT!) For attending the top public university in the nation. For always attaining good jobs and good internships throughout the year. For NEVER overspending. Alas, parents. I suppose this is because good becomes only average. And the view that the grass is always better on the other side.
hehe…sounds like your parents are more of a stereotypical chinese parents than you are the sterreotypical asian girl. I think it\’s pretty normal for children to seek approval from parents if the parents have done a somewhat a good job in taking care of them. And i don\’t think your parents are mad because you\’re not good enough of a kid, just probably mad because you still couldn\’t take care or yourself…eh…hate when mom makes me feel that way, too. stinkin\’ responsibility. :P
ehhehehee so do u think they think I am a good kid? Because I don\’t have an internship, I do overspend, I\’m not in the top public school in the nation, and I don\’t get the most fabulous grades……………………………… I am not that grass on the other side u know.
Im going to start an \”exchange the child program for parents\”, so parents like yours get to find out how good they have it. Your parents would automatically get some gang banger from the bronx.
THEY SHOULD GET ME (as their xchange child :p) Then they\’ll see how good they\’ve got you ;)
that was my idea, in so many words, you gang banger, you.
YOU SMELL BAD
