This week\’s Friday Five
1. What was the first thing you ever cooked?
Besides in a microwave, the first thing I ever cooked in the stove was scrambled eggs. All I basically did was crack open the egg in bowl…then whisk it. Then dump it into the oily pan…and cook.
2. What\’s your signature dish?
Fried rice. That\’s all I really make from scratch (if you can call it from scratch) as a college student…besides all the ramen I eat. And all the pasta. Let\’s not forget the frozen food. Mmmm…frozen corn dogs…frozen waffles…
3. Ever had a cooking disaster? (tasted like crap, didn\’t work, etc.) Describe.
In middle school, I subscribed to the Nickelodeon magazine. In one issue, they had a recipe for slime cookies. Now, I was curious to see how slime cookies tasted like. You know…maybe slime tasted sweet. Unfortunately…I followed the recipe closely and no slime didn\’t taste that sweet. Also because I didn\’t have any green food coloring, the slime was red. Bleh, well the cookies were dry…and nasty.
4. If skill and money were no object, what would make for your dream meal?
If I would make? I\’ll have someone make it! Okay, strawberry soup or coconut-peach soup. Yes, a chilled soup. Wait let\’s just skip directly to the dessert. Sweet crepes. Zabaione alla Gritti. Custard. Ice cream. :)
5. What are you doing this weekend?
Working in the basement of Soda with Karen (hopefully she can be my partner) on the CS project. Then Herb is visiting me on Sunday!!! :D For once, I am staying in Berkeley over the weekend because my parents are flying back up from San Diego and won\’t get back until late Saturday night. Oh and yes, dinner with the grandparents on Sunday too (second round of Chinese New Year celebration).
ranch!!!! isn\’t it a little toooo obvious…your parents are out of town…you got the freakin house to yourself…..go throw a partaaaay!!!! :) woooo woooo! :)
Whoaaaa…lol. That didn\’t occur to me until now! Aaaah too late now!
